Snapdeal partners with Pantaloons

Fashion Retailer, Pantaloons which is part of the Aditya Birla Group, has tied up with Snapdeal to sell its products online and take advantage of the online marketplaces’ wide customer base and operational capabilities.
“We have started experimenting with e-commerce sites in the past six months and have been entering into partnerships with a number of sites, the latest being Snapdeal. We will put up our stores on this large marketplace as we expect it to help in garnering additional sales,’’ stated Shital Mehta, CEO, Pantaloons.

Pantaloons currently sells online through:

  • Amazon
  • Myntra
  • Jabong
  • Flipkart
  • abof.com
Aditya Birla had set up its own online fashion store abof.com, which stands for ‘All about fashion’ less than 6 months back. It has already exceeded expectation, clocking up Rs. 100 crore GMV in record time. It has also enhanced its customer experience, with the launch of an experience store and 3D trial room. Pantaloons products are being sold on abof.com, but it still wants to tap the resources of the other online marketplaces.
“abof is a different company set up by the Aditya Birla group and we will continue to be a part of it. But at the same time we want to be available with others and Snapdeal is the fifth e-commerce site that we have added,’’ remarked Shital.
Snapdeal is equally pleased about the partnership with pantaloons. Its fashion category grew 250% in 2015 and so it is hoping for more of the same. These kind of deals will help it to grow its apparel sales further.
“We are excited to partner with Pantaloons to bring their assortment online. We have the widest range of choices for our fashion buying customers and Pantaloons brands will be a great addition to our portfolio. We are confident that this partnership would be well received by the Snapdeal customers across 6000+ towns and cities of India,” said Rahul Taneja, Vice President, Category Management, Snapdeal.
