Guwahati: Prakash Rochlani, Director, Last Mile Operations, Amazon India on Thursday said that there is no slowdown in the e-commerce industry.
Rochlani who was in Guwahati while talking to ET said, "We have not seen any slowdown in e-commerce. This trade accounts for nearly three percent of the retail industry."
Amazon.in announced the expansion of its delivery network in the state of Assam. Rochlani added in the last one year, Amazon.in has doubled its last mile network in the state. With this expansion, Amazon.in now has close to 30 delivery stations and Service Partner nodes, and has partnered with close to 130 Kirana stores as part of its 'I Have Space' program in the state.
Rochlani said,"We believe that customers, no matter where they reside or are located, value fast and reliable delivery. In line with our vision of making ecommerce a part of everyday life, we have expanded our delivery network in Assam. This will enable us to better serve our customers and also support our Prime customers with free and fast delivery, especially for the upcoming festive season."
He added that in Assam Amazon has one fulfillment centers in Assam with close to one lakh cubic feet of storage space and sort Center with more than 20,000 sq feet of processing area. "We have 30,000 sellers from Assam selling on our platform."
