Snapdeal’s Unbox Diwali Sale prep is also relying on data analysis to guide sellers to attain maximum sales this festive season.

What kind of data analysis is Snapdeal conducting?

The ecommerce company states that its seller facing team, called SD Advisors, are currently finalizing joint business plans with over 15,000 sellers. Face-to-face meetings are being held with across 120 towns and cities  in the country for this very purpose. These plans are expected to enable online sellers to tailor their assortments and inventory based on predictive analysis from Snapdeal.
Snapdeal says this joint planning will enable sellers to:
  • Stock what is selling
  • Store it closer to consumption centres
This way adequate stock can be maintained and out-of-stock situations can be eliminated.

Besides the above mentioned meetings, Snapdeal has also rolled out a new feature to provide valuable information to its online sellers. Sellers can now use a business recommendation engine on the seller panel. The engine allows them to access vital details on top performing products, diversification ideas and even sub-category information. This way sellers will have the required tools to make wise business decisions that encourage all round growth.
Traditionally, sellers relied on intuition and conventional wisdom to decide assortment. Snapdeal is changing this by providing big data analytic tools to even small and medium sellers, easily accessible on their Snapdeal seller panel. New Snapdeal Seller Panel with 45+ improved features!

The business recommendation engine is not the only new feature from Snapdeal.Over the course of the last 6 months the etailer has launched more than 45 new seller panel features. All of these have been aimed at providing online vendors a seamless selling experience across functions like:
  • listing
  • on-boarding
  • query resolution
  • reconciliation.
The Indiana online marketplace states that merchants can list in under an hour now with the new panel. All the improvements on the seller interface have increased the number of products available on Snapdeal. The etailer is currently at 50 million compared to its last year’s total of 35 million.
