Amazon is planning its festive season sales this year by focusing on variety . The etailer emailed its online sellers about its intentions to delight consumers by making available the widest selection of online products at amazing prices and with convenient delivery options.

Amazon’s Diwali marketing campaign

The marketplace informed online sellers that it has planned a marketing campaign for Diwali. It will begin at the start of October. This is when the great deals will run across categories. The event will be promoted through varied channels and significant spikes in the traffic are expected during these days.

What can sellers do?

Like the previous festive season, Amazon wants its seller to offer consumers a great experience. To achieve this, Amazon suggests its sellers should concentrate on:
  • Adding more products to their selection
  • Stocking up for the season
Fulfilment sellers have been advised to ship their products to respective fulfilment centres by25th September 2016.
Good practices to succeed during the festive season sales this year:
  1. Make it a point to check and update product prices and the level of inventory in advance. Sufficient stocks must be maintained before the festive sales starts.
  2. Based on inventory levels, the shipping and handling time must be updated.
  3. Sellers must inform their logistics providers about their speedy delivery requirements and set appropriate pickup and delivery time slots. Orders shipped must be tagged with a tracking number
  4. If special festive season packaging is available sellers should use it for better customer experience results.
  5. Check messages from the buyer on a regular basis if the marketplace allows this feature. Make sure you do this at least two times a day. Responses should be delivered to customers within 24 hours.
  6. Include thank you notes and festive greetings in packages. You can also tweak your product descriptions to match the festivities.
