Some may say the festive season will pick up the slow ecommerce pace. Others may not be as optimistic about the festive season sales. Despite the different expectations people have for this festive season, Flipkart chooses to go ahead with its decisions to make the most of this peak time of year.
The online marketplace recently issued a festive season checklist to help to its online sellers shape up for the big sales event. In an email to them, Flipkart mentioned that last year’s Big Billion Days festive season sale was huge success.

- About Rs. 2000 crore worth of commodities were sold off
This year’s online sale is expected to be even bigger!
What does Flipkart have in store for Festive Season 2016?
The entire month of October will be dedicated to multiple sales over the Flipkart desktop website and its mobile app too. 2016’s festive season will be a month long celebration of growth claims Flipkart through an email to its sellers. And to ready them for a month long flood of huge orders, the etailer has presented the following checklist:
a. Stock up – A sufficient number of products must be maintained during the festive season, if a seller wants to offer discounts at this time of year.
b. Quick dispatch – Sellers can obtain multiple orders if they maintain a procurement SLA of one day.
c. Proper pricing – Listed product prices must be competitive and attractive for the online consumer. Value for money always delights consumers.
d. Efficient packaging – Sellers must make sure to use good quality packaging material and use it efficiently. This will reduce chances of product damage during shipping and the consumers are kept happy.
e. Proper logistics forms – Make it a point have the correct logistics form attached to the orders being shipped.
f. Maintain sufficient funds –Sellers must maintain sufficient funds during the festive season to take advantage of all the opportunities available. This way no chance is missed to earn more.
g. Maintain performance metrics – Sellers will be required to work through the weekends during the festive season. RTDs must be marked by all means or else, the seller’s account will be made pending.
h. Catalogue updates – All product titles must be checked and updated according to relevance. High resolution images and descriptive yet attractive product descriptions must be added to further draw in the consumer’s attention.
Why should you follow through?
Online consumers will not be the only ones enjoying exciting prizes. It’s not just online retail growth that the etailer is using this time to entice online sellers to participate in its mega sales event. Sellers on the platform will be monitored and the those who work hard will be rewarded.
