Amazon has made quite a few changes recently. Some of them major like commission readjustments and others small but relevant like the ATES support service.
Looks like Amazon sellers have another change coming their way. This time, the ecommerce company has tweaked its shipping facility – Easy Ship. The Easy Ship service from Amazon has come quite far since its launch in 2014, with many improvements along the way.
Recently, Amazon decided to upgrade the shipping service by increasing the Easy Ship package weight and dimension limits.

What are the new Easy Ship package limits?

According to Amazon’s email announcing the revision Easy Ship will now support:
  • Package weight up to 18kgs (instead of 9kgs)
  • Package dimensions up to 70cms x 70cms x 45cms (instead of 50cms x 35cms x 30cms)
For all those packages with a volumetric or actual weight exceeding 5kgs will be charged as per the oversize rate card. Details of the same are available on the Seller Central.
In case online sellers have packages with weighting between 9kgs – 18kgs, they will now receive Easy Ship orders for ATS serviced delivery locations and will still receive Self Ship orders for non-ATS serviced locations.

How do you avail of this updated service?

The bulk scheduling template has been updated to support scheduling of packages weighing up to 18kgs and with measurements up to 70cms x 70cms x 45cms. The new templates must be downloaded to benefit from the increased Easy Ship package limits.
If sellers use the old templates, they will not be allowed to schedule packages weighing more than 9kgs or measuring more than 50cms x 35cms x 30cms.

Amazon shipping label guidelines for Easy Ship packages

When using the Easy Ship service from Amazon, sellers have also been requested to follow certain shipping label guidelines for effective outcomes. The following guidelines have been issued by Amazon to its online sellers who have signed up for the Easy Ship facility:
  1. The label print must be clear and readable. Avoid folding the label and make sure the barcodes printed on are easily scan-able
  2. Shipping labels must be fixed on the most visible or largest side of the package.
  3. While printing, the label must not be resized or altered in any way.
  4. No markings of any kind should be made on the shipping label.
  5. The label must be fixed onto the flat side of the packaging. (This means details like the barcode, to and from address should be clearly visible on the face of the package.
