The fulfilment services from online marketplaces help online sellers gain consumer trust and build strong brands. This is initiated through the guarantee of quality products and fast delivery options.
Fulfilled by Amazon (FBA), has been building its FBA facilities since their launch in India. Recently, Amazon alerted changed its reimbursement policy and set up a plan for the establishment of more fulfilment centres in key areas, where online retail demand is highest.
Newest introduction to Amazon’s FBA facility
On the 3rd of September, Amazon introduced an MS-Excel utility that enables sellers to create removal requests for FBA inventory. According to an email from the etailer, this is for inventory eligible for Long Term Storage Fee (LTSF) and inventory which is unsellable. It is a free tool for Amazon FBA sellers. The newly designed tool autopopulates a flat file for removal requests. The flat file will contain the exact inventory that must be removed to avoid LTSF charges.
Benefits of the new removable request utility
The new utility from Amazon FBA allows online sellers to avoid LTSF. LTSF is charged every month on sellable inventory units that are stored in Amazon Fulfilment Centres for more than 180 days (6 months). It is the case for all of the etailer’s categories except apparel and shoes. In case of this category, LTSF is charged on units in the Fulfilment Centre for more than 365 days (12 months).
The tool also allows sellers to prevent human errors that may occur when populating the removal request flat file manually.
How should sellers use this tool?
To use this tool FBA sellers must download it then follow the instruction manual:
