Giving financial support to third party staffer in coma after delivery boy assault: Amazon

Giving financial support to third party staffer in coma after delivery boy assault: AmazonHYDERABAD: A day after the incident of the assault by a delivery boy of an Amazon third-party agency sending his supervisor into a coma came to light, the e-commerce biggie said it was extending all the necessary support to the victim, including financial support for his treatment.

“We are aware of the unfortunate incident where an associate hired by our staffing agency has suffered serious injuries. Safety of associates is our top priority, and the accused is in police custody. We are extending all necessary support to the victim and his family in this tough time,” said a statement issued by Amazon on Friday.

On November 20, V Sivaram, who works for ASCA Management Services Ltd was attacked by delivery boy Muneer at their office in Towlichowki.

Sivaram later complained of a headache and was found unconscious by his hostel-mates. He has since been in a coma and has been undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the city.

Sivaram’s family learnt about the assault only two days after the incident and lodged a complaint at Golconda police station.

The police registered a case under Section 325 (punishment for voluntarily causing grievous hurt) of the IPC.

As per the victim’s family, Muneer was nursing a grudge against Sivaram after he learnt that the latter had complained against him to their manager for reportedly not delivering Amazon products on time to customers.
