Flipkart recently launched a fashion catalogue which got everyone talking as it showcased apparel trends for the upcoming season, based on its in-house analytics team. Myntra is also using artificial intelligence tools to predict fashion trends. With Amazon sponsoring the India fashion week and even Aditya Birla also jumping into the online fashion world with its Abof platform the stakes are getting really high.
Now Snapdeal who recently tied up with 40 designers , including household names such as Manish Arora and Malani Ramani, has launched its forecasting fashion technology, Snaptrends that is all set to revolutionize the online apparel industry. Snaptrends will assist small and medium sized businesses to make informed choices when creating their clothing collections. Snapdeal envisages the service to be the go to place for fashion tips and is exclusively for its network of seller partners.

The platform will offer information that includes:

  • Trend inspirations
  • Key fabrics
  • Colour direction
  • Original prints
Snapdeal plans to hit the ground running and has already prepared an ethnic collection for the festive 2015 season, titled ‘Garden of Eden’ which highlights the beauty of the garden through its apparel range. Snaptrends will also focus on western fashion, which will be showcased in the upcoming seasons.

Snaptrends will be curated by a group of:

  • Trend analysts
  • Fashion designers
  • Textile designers
  • Fashion experts
“Snaptrends will enable us to create value for our customers by bringing them the latest apparel and fashion accessories and to our sellers by empowering them with valuable consumer insights. With this trends forecasting service, we will enable Indian fashion manufacturers of all sizes to keep abreast of latest industry insights, giving them a chance to tap the fast growing market.” said Vishal Chadha, Senior Vice President, Snapdeal.
