Flipkart is gearing up to add more sellers to its fleet this festive season. The ecommerce bellwether has launched a new program, ‘Turbo Charge’, to attract sellers. Turbo Charge is packed with features and offers for new sellers.
Easy onboarding for sellers
Under the new program, sellers who sign up with Flipkart will get services worth close to Rs. 10,000 for free. These services include operations and account management, cataloguing and listing support, ad credits, and services from Flipkart’s full service agencies (FSA). The FSAs that are a part of this scheme are Browntape, ChikiWeb, Onio, Blubox, 99 yrs, and Seller Worx.
The intention is to bring on sellers quicker, says Manish Maheshwari, Flipkart’s head and vice president, seller ecosystem. “Primarily the idea is to get sellers quickly onboard our platform and also give them various ecosystem services, so that they can quickly start selling and also start growing on the platform,” Maheshwari said. The program will help bring down the seller onboarding from the present average of two to three weeks to less than a week, he said.
Benefits for sellers
The new program will help sellers take advantage of the upcoming festive season. The benefits extended to sellers in Turbo Charge are many. Flipkart’s FSA partners will help sellers plan their business with constant support and advice.
This will be particularly helpful for novice sellers and those from the small towns, who are not familiar with the workings of ecommerce, Maheshwari maintained. “A lot of sellers in small towns are very new to ecommerce. They take time to understand the nuances of understanding the online business,” he said.
Flipkart joins hands with Itzcash to enable online shopping minus cards
In a move to widen its shopper base, Flipkart has announced a partnership with Itzcash. The move will help buyers who don’t have either a debit or credit card to shop. A combined onlinestore has been launched for this.
Itzcash provides its customers with a multi-purpose reloadable prepaid card that enables them to buy products and services. The user need not have a bank account, and can use it to pay utility bills, book travel and movie tickets, and shop online. Itzcash charges for its services.
With this move, Itzcash intends to introduce the ‘underbanked’ to the benefits of online shopping. “ItzCash has been a pioneer in serving the under banked segment through its prepaid payment instruments since 2006 and this association with Flipkart has opened doors for the said segment to transact online and fuels their aspirations further,” said Naveen Surya, the Managing Director of Itzcash.
It sure looks like everyone is looking forward to a successful shopping season this year!
