Big Billion Day: Flipkart sold nearly Rs 1,300-crore worth of smartphones

The e-commerce giant, Flipkart, has sold $200 million (Rs 1,295.6 crore) worth of mobile phones during its five days long sale, 'Big Billion sale', ET report has said.
As per the reports, Flipkart sold 250 mobile phones every minute, out of which 190 phones were 4G enabled, during the sale which ended on October 17. This shows that mobile phones category made up two-third of the $300 million (Rs 1,943 crore) worth of products purchased by the consumers.
Last year, during the sale, Flipkart had sold $60 million (Rs 388.68 crore) worth of smartphones. This year, almost 80% of the sold smartphones were under the price band of Rs 10,000, the report added.
The Diwali sale started on October 13 this year, and Flipkart had managed to sell nearly half a million mobile phones in the first 10 hours alone. 
The top selling smartphones during the sale were Lenovo K3 Note, Moto G3, Samsung Galaxy J5 and J7, attracting most users from Bengaluru, Delhi and Chennai.
