Shopclues launches interactive app for sellers

In a bid to enable online sellers to easily onboard and start selling, Shopclues has created an exclusive android app. The ecommerce company also plans to provide other services like taxes, and reconciliation for payments.

Helping sellers go online from offline

Shopclues caters to buyers of the middle-class, and its sellers are also from that economic range.
Arun Goel, VP of Shopclues says, “We deal in unstructured categories. Through this app, merchants can chat with consumers in real time, and close deals on chat by creating coupons.”
How else are the sellers guided?
Goel says, “We are telling some of them, for instance, that if you lower your price by a certain percentage, you can get a bump in sales. That data is based on how much their competitors are selling at.”

Baiting the sellers

Shopclues has been working hard to onboard more sellers. In the past, the company has introduced a seller’s club to encourage sellers to interact with each other. Other major marketplaces like Flipkart and Amazon are pulling out all of the stops to see that they take care of their sellers. Apart from helping sellers get loans, marketplaces are also providing them guidance on pricing, marketing, warehousing, etc.
All guns are trained to one common target – GMV. Everybody is working hard to raise their GMV figures.
