TN police arrest three men for stealing truck with Rs 30lakh worth products shipped by Amazon

KRISHNAGIRI: The Kaveripattinam police in Tamil Nadu have arrested three people who allegedly stole a truck carrying Rs 30lakh worth products shipped by e-commerce company Amazon.

The truck left Akkondahalli in Bengaluru for Kochi on January 18 night and reached Kaveripattinam in Krishnagiri district around 2am on January 19. Driver Periya Karuppu, 38, parked the truck near Pothapuram on Salem-Bengaluru National Highway to relieve himself and to have tea.

When he came back, the truck was missing. He lodged a complaint with the Kaveripattinam police. Based on the complaint, Krishnagiri superintendent of police Bandi Gangathar formed a team led by DSP Kannan and Kaveripattinam police Inspector Subramani.

The team checked footages from CCTV cameras at toll-plazas. They noticed the truck in a CCTV footage from a toll plaza at Kuppam in Andhra Pradesh. The police went to Kuppam area and spotted the truck with parcels.

They arrested three men, identified as Naresh, 36, Madhu, 33 of Kolar and Sanjay, 40 of Osakotta, on Wednesday evening. The police were searching for another accused, identified as Sukash, 34, who was absconding.
