get about Rs 2,000 higher salary, they tend to quit and join another
player in the same ecosystem.”
Logistics, which is a key enabler for growth of the e-commerce retail industry, plays an important role in terms of customer satisfaction driven by quick deliveries and hence retaining these staff becomes crucial for these companies.
In a meeting organised on Thursday by Better Place Safety Solutions, a background verification startup, operations and HR heads from Roadrunnr, E-Kart, Opinio, Shadowfax, Parcelled, Swiggy, Blue Dart, Delhivery, PepperTap, Grofers amongst others participated to discuss on the retention challenges. “There is huge demand-supply gap in this industry. The delivery staff, even if they get about Rs 2,000 higher salary, they tend to quit and join another player in the same ecosystem. While it is noticed that about 30% of the staff go absconding,” Pravin Agarwala, co-founder of Better Place said.
Faced with stiff competition in the in the e-commerce and hyprelocal
delivery segment, the industry is facing 50-60% staff attrition,
