E-commerce company Hopscotch, which features international and local branded merchandise primarily for children, has added two senior members to its management team.

These hires come after the company opened an office in Bengaluru to power its next phase of growth.

The Mumbai-headquartered fashion brand has hired Somu Vadali as chief product officer and Vivek Pawar as senior director of programmes and growth.

South India is one of Hopscotch’s biggest markets, and Bengaluru is amongst the top three cities that contributes to the company’s overall share of business.

Somu Vadali joins Hopscotch as the lead of data and product functions team. He spent 18 of his 22-year career in Silicon Valley building digital and data products across consumer, retail, and fintech industries at Yodlee, Acxiom, Imprivata, and Nuance, before relocating to Future Group in India. His experience spans leading global and complex initiatives with domain expertise including mobile, gamification, behavioural change, machine learning, biometric data, speech recognition, predictive analytics and SaaS.

Vivek Pawar joins the company as the senior director of programmes and growth. He spent a few decades in the technology domain building products in the fashion e-commerce space. He founded StyleTag where he successful raised several rounds of capital with a vision to disrupt the fashion space. Prior to this, he worked closely with and advised leading multinational organisations including Nordstrom and The GAP.

“We have taken a highly disruptive approach enabled by data science, product, and engineering to offer unparalleled value to the customer. Strong leadership will play a vital role in attracting strong talent to join Hopscotch in our journey, make the right product investments, and catalyse growth. With a new team on board, we will accelerate our pace of investments,” said Rahul Anand, CEO and founder, Hopscotch India.
