GN Audio’s flagship brand Jabra has announced the launch of its ecommerce portal. The company also signed a strategic partnership with Innova Telecom Pvt. Ltd (Innova) by forming a Joint venture in India called Jabra Connect India Private Limited.
The products of ecommerce portal in India will be shipped by Jabra Connect and would include the complete portfolio of its products including Enterprise and Consumer products.
Jabra has also acquired an additional 46% of Innova bringing their share to 51%.
Innova has been distributing Jabra in India for over a decade. Rajesh Ghei – current CEO and founder of Innova – will continue to lead this as CEO of Jabra Connect, which has today around 120 employees across nine offices.
Mark Leigh, President, Asia Pacific, Jabra shared, “The strategic partnership strengthens Jabra’s presence in India and brings us closer to our customers. Through this partnership, we would be able to leverage Jabra’s global strengths, product line up and brand value with Innova’s strong position in this market.”
He also emphasised that Innova Telecom has had a significant growth rate in the past years. With joining formally, the company intends to further strengthen their presence by building a true national sales and support network.
On the development, Rajesh Ghei, CEO, Jabra Connect said, “We believe this joint venture will be a huge catalyst in growth for both the companies through best in class products and innovative customer-centric services.”
Talking to reporters, Rajesh shared that the company is focusing on business and enterprise solutions.
Mark shared that the company has already worked with the government on projects like prison-based video conferencing where the company has provided speakers etc to the government to enable court discussions where prisoner stays in the prison and judge addresses the court via video conferencing.
Some of the other projects include an exclusive customised solution for Red Bull to record voice-based experience during adventure sports and silence the winds and record the sportsman experience. The company is also working on an artificial intelligence-based product which will enable voice assistants like Alexa to serve a user while he/she is out of home too, through a headset etc.
On the occasion, the company also launched Biz 1100 for India and for the world. The company claims that the new headset is designed for emerging markets and Call Centers and call-centric use
The company is a subsidiary of 150-year old GN Audio and claims to be a leader in engineering communications and sound solutions – innovating to empower both consumers and businesses.
Jabra employs close to 1,100 people worldwide and reported annual revenue of $633 Mn (DKK 4 Bn) in 2017.
