Amazon launches Amazon Pantry in Chennai

Ecommerce major Amazon has launched its grocery and household facility ‘Amazon Pantry’ in Chennai, taking the total number of cities that offer such service to 29 across the country.
Amazon Pantry customers in Chennai can shop for over 4,000 everyday essentials from over 250 brands of groceries and household products, a company statement said.
“We are working towards making ecommerce a daily habit for consumers and hence we are happy to launch Amazon Pantry for customers in Chennai. Chennai is one of the key markets for us and with Amazon Pantry, customers can conveniently shop for grocery and household products”, Amazon India Director, Category Management FMCG, Saurabh Srivastava said.
While delivery charges are priced at Rs 49 per box, Amazon said as part of launch Rs 20 per box would be availed from customers. For subscribers of Amazon Prime, delivery would be free, it added.
