Amazon will teach one thousand small and medium enterprises of Telangana not having online presence, to take the plunge and reap the benefits of e-tailing. On Wednesday, the company forged a memorandum of understanding with the State government to help SMEs “take advantage of the digital economy.” It intends to help them through seminars, workshops, video aids and ready reckoners on “how to list and manage inventory for an ecommerce business.” The agreement was signed during the visit of an Amazon team consisting of senior vice-president (worldwide operations and customer service) Dave Clark and Amazon India VP and country manager Amit Agarwal. The MoU coincided with the company unveiling plans to begin operations next month at its fulfilment centre in Kattur, near Hyderabad. Speaking to The Hindu , Director (seller services) Amit Deshpande said the new warehouse will be used to ship products across the country.
