Yet another ecommerce company has joined the ‘Payment Delay Club’. The new entrant is IndiaRush that seems to be in no rush to release its sellers’ payments.
A few weeks back online seller Kamlesh Thummar, who owns Stutti Fashion, a women’ ethnic wear and fashion jewellery brand reached out to Indian Online Seller (IOS). He informs us that IndiaRush hasn’t released his pending payments and has stopped responding to his calls and emails.

The full scoop

“First we had signed the MOU of Indiarush on 28-Jul-2015. And we sold our first product on Indiarush as a seller on 10 January 2016. We delivered 107 orders (Excluding of RTO and RTV) between 10th January 2016 to 30th May 2016 and they paid us on 18 June 2016,” shares Thummar.
He adds,
“Approximately, they take 6 months to pay us. And their last payment was done on 9th December 2016 and it was of September month payment. Also they are not paying full amount and don’t provide any settled transactions reports or something else. Every time they are cheating.”
Kamlesh Thummar shared his complete IndiaRush payment and transaction details along with bank statements. According to the details shared by the seller with IOS, for the year 2016 (from 10-Jan-2016 to 6-Dec-2016):
Orders (After Returns and Cancellations)668
Payment (After Commission)Rs. 3,27,589.7
Total PayoutsRs. 1,16, 588
The payment for many orders across the year is pending. After repeated assurances of releasing payment in 3-5 working days, Thummar informed IndiaRush that he might have to take legal action against the company (as mentioned in the email trail shared with IOS). To this IndiaRush’s Business Development Manager, Amrit Singh Rathour replied, “You can start anything you want!!”

Buyers and sellers, both are unhappy

Kamlesh Thummar isn’t the only one waiting for his payments.
Seller Sagar Vamja from Surat wrote in his complaint on Grahak Suraksha online forum that IndiaRush isn’t paying his pending dues of Rs. 50,000 for orders fulfilled between October 2016 to January 2017. He too has been interacting with Rathour from IndiaRush who said that the company doesn’t have money to pay its sellers, according to Vamja’s complaint.

One look at the consumers’ reviews of IndiaRush is enough to reach a conclusion that buyers aren’t happy with the ecommerce company as well.
A buyer wrote in his review,
“I purchased a saree from India rush. Then I returned that due to poor quality… I reached them on Facebook. First they respond after 2 days. Then asked for the images. I emailed them. then they said they will get back to me within 48 hours but they didn’t get back to me till 5 days. I again tried to reach them over Facebook. they didn’t reply. I gave bad review over there so they blocked me. Given contact no always busy. You can’t reach them for your problem. They are fraud. I have lost my 1500Rs.”

It would be an understatement to say that the complaint list is huge! From defective products, cheap quality of product, to bad service, customers’ are calling IndiaRush a fraud site.

Is lack of funds the issue?

IOS got in touch with an online seller BRS (name withheld on request) who sells on IndiaRush. While he personally hasn’t faced many issues on the ecommerce platform, he did admit that there’s trouble brewing as far as funding is concerned.
IOS asked BRS whether it is true that IndiaRush isn’t paying its sellers. He says,
“This is true up to some extent. Recently they came up with seller grading. I had personally talked with one guy (from IndiaRush) and he told that it is to remove some of non performing sellers who like have low order count, more RMAs, delayed fulfillments etc. I said bringing orders is your responsibility; at least after you impose extra marketing charges.”
He further shares,
“As per policy schedule, time for payment is like 1st month’s payment should be paid altogether in 3rd month beginning week. But they are delaying another 2 months that too is paid after a regular follow up, most of which is not replied. They do not have seller support service where we can call, email is only option.”
According to BRS, IndiaRush blames this delay in seller payments on two things:
  1. Courier Company doesn’t release payments on time and block full payment for wrong weight issues they raise
  2. They do not have any venture capitalist/investors to support them financially and operate on their own funds
Indian Online Seller mailed IndiaRush and its founder Rahi Jain, but we have received no reply. Even a message sent to its official Facebook elicited no response.
Sellers, do you sell on IndiaRush? Are your payments stuck too? And seller associations like AIOVA, eSeller Suraksha, have sellers reached out to you with regards to IndiaRush? Please leave your valuable comments below.
