Snapdeal has 63 Snapdeal Plus (SD+) centres in 25 cities across the whole country and more than 80% of its total sales are shipped through these fulfilment centres. That is a major leap from the 7% delivers shipped from SD+ centres, back in January 2015.
Availing of marketplace fulfilment services can get you an advantage over other sellers. That’s because online consumers trust those sellers who have an association with the marketplace and can guarantee them quality and timely product delivery.
The goods shipped from SD+ centres have end to end trackability and can be shipped to consumers immediately, the marketplace said. Products stored in marketplace warehouses give them more control over inventory and allows them to predict product deliveries accurately.
Why do Online Sellers Love this Model?
- Reduced inventory cost
- Limited inventory management
- Customer trust
- Faster delivery
- Quality packaging
- Easy shipment tracking
Besides Snapdeal, Flipkart and Amazon also ship most of their products from their warehouses. However, the exact quality is unknown, despite this it is safe to say marketplace fulfilment services are a success in the country.
“Managing a majority of our shipments through our own fulfilment centres is part of our mission to provide a reliable and frictionless customer experience. Shipping through SD+ gives us the opportunity to screen quality of products and the quality of packaging. We also have end-to-end visibility on all products shipped through our fulfilment centres and this enables us to promise and deliver faster,” saysSnapdeal’s chief customer experience officer, Jayant Sood.
Snapdeal delivers to over 6,000 cities and towns in the country. 95% of orders from SD+ sellers are fulfilled on time and with zero errors, Sood added.
The marketplace has more than 35 million products from beyond 1,25,000 brands and retailers both national and international (even regional) across its 800 plus different categories.
